About "Dr. Amy"

Hi, I’m “Dr. Amy”.  I am a Counseling Psychologist as well as an LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) in Maryland, an LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) in New York State and also, an LMHC in Washington State.  I work with adults.  My private practice via telehealth are the states that I am licensed in: Maryland, New York State and Washington State. In all locations, sessions are via telehealth.

I have over 22 years experience as an individual, child, adolescent, substance abuse, group, play therapy, Sandtray (a Jungian based therapy) and marriage/family therapist and I’ve been in private practice for 12 1/2 years.  Also, I am a graduate of Argosy University's Washington, DC campus with a doctorate (EdD) in Counseling Psychology.  My dissertation topic looked at the over diagnosis/misdiagnosis of Bipolar Disorder in Medicaid clients as compared to clients with commercial insurance plans.  If you’d like to read my dissertation, please click here: dissertation

Also, from Argosy University I have a master's degree in Professional Counseling, upon which my LCPC and LMHC licensures are based upon.  I currently serve as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients with varying issues.
